Theory Of Knowledge
... applied to the world to gain more knowledge. Man is naturally curious and has created subjects to understand different aspects of the world. But since logic is a man made tool, it can be used to understand an event controlled or created by man, and cannot understand something that is one hundred percent natural.
For something to be logical, it must make sense and have a rational and understandable explanation. There are two types of logic, deductive and inductive. Logic, whether inductive or deductive, must have a premise. To have a sound argument, I had to have two true premises and the conclusion had to be in specific relation to the premises given. The premise ...

... over 50 years it was primarily a tool of war and destruction when the war ended need for atomic bombs diminished . The scientists who created the weapons were out of jobs . They then turned this destructive power into huge plants generating "clean and cheap " electricity for the country . It was called progress. Progress also brought with it sickness , mutations , cancer and eventually death to those exposed to high levels of radiation . Government declared that nuclear power is safe and efficient . Oil Never Sleeps
... of the data is fairly thorough. It reminded me of
class discussions about cultures that exploit nature versus those who live
in harmony with it. All of this time I have felt myself to be one of the
more environmentally aware people. I ride bicycle and skateboard locally
to keep from using a car. Now after reading about "petroleum surfboards", I
realize that bicycles have a lot more oil in them than you might think. All
of the safety gear is oil, the helmet, pads, shoes, lycra shorts, bottles,
even the wristwatch. The same applies to skateboarding.
At this point I look up and see thousands of gallons of oil in my
house. I'm surrounded by it. My so ...

“The rain…falls upon the just and the unjust alike; a thing which would not happened if I were superintending the rains affairs. No, I would rain softly and sweetly on the just, but if I caught a sample of the unjust outdoors I would drown him” (World Literature 3721).
In the novel The Prince and the Pauper, Clemens was able to underscore some of the social follies and injustices ...

Education Through The Television
... stories like Hercules, Hunchback of Notre Dame, etc.. Some of
these stories are now a part of our culture and children know and understand
them because of television.
As people grow older, television, at least for recent generations, plays
a large role in socialization. On many sitcoms and talk shows one can learn of
problems of today like teenage pregnancy, poverty, drugs, etc.. Television also
seems to support somewhat decent morals, a very religious person may not think
so but television still follows the good guy-hero, bad guy-loser theme. From
certain shows on TV one can learn what sort of things are socially acceptable
for instance fashion, beha ...

Masculinity
... In order to explain the crisis of masculinity, I think there are two significant aspects. One is Power; the other one is femininity. In the history, men were the dominant power of society and dare to say still it is. Men had to be strong enough to get the power to dominate the society and female. Actually, men are forced to be like that to survive in the society. Because of the power of dominance, the traditional masculinity has those aspects, self- centredness, defensiveness, a strong sense of entitlement, and a strong sense of pride. But often this is difficult for men to accept because individual men can feel so unsure and powerless themselves. They find ...

White Noise
... explorers jeopardized their life in search of the so-called "fountain of life". The reason of this can be explained by the fear of death. As death is such a mysterious and frightful matter, in Don Delillo's , he agrees that "[at] some level everyone fears death" (p. 197) and this powerful fear can easily influence a person's behaviour and actions.
The depiction of how a man can fear death can be found in the protagonist of the novel, Jack Gladney. In the conversation between Murray and Jack in their long stroll outside the college, DeLillo suggests his views on the issue of death. "Do you think your death is premature?" Murray says. "Every death is premature" ...

Fuel Wars
... absurd oil prices. This cause crises causes problems to the families that need every cent they earn to continue on their daily living. The standard of living, per household drops and consumer spending decreases, in order to save enough money to pay for oil. If this continues on, it will very well cause the economy to fall into a contraction period.
In Canada the cost of fuel has hit record highs of $.69 a liter to $.71 to liter. As you can see those prices are ridiculous and all Canadian citizens agree with me, especially those people that devote their life to being on the road, truckers. Truckers are outraged with the prices of diesel it has increased 100% and ...
